Summary
Protects the statutory placement and structure of Department of Education offices that administer disability programs. This bill would bar the use of appropriated funds to eliminate, consolidate, restructure, reassign, or outsource offices or personnel that administer or enforce the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Protect Education Department disability offices
If enacted, this bill would bar using money Congress appropriates to close, merge, or restructure Education Department offices that run programs for people with disabilities. It would bar using those funds to outsource administration or enforcement of IDEA or Rehabilitation Act programs to outside entities. It would also bar reassigning, terminating, or changing staff roles if that change would cause the department to fail its legal duties under those laws. These limits would take effect upon enactment.
