Creates an Agritourism Advisor at the USDA to promote agritourism and coordinate federal support for farm-based tourism, education, recreation, dining, and lodging. New agritourism advisor at USDA
If enacted, the bill would require the Secretary of Agriculture to name a senior Agritourism Advisor in the Office of the Under Secretary for Rural Development. The Advisor would promote agritourism activities across all States, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and on tribal lands. The Advisor would coordinate USDA agencies, advise the Secretary, do outreach, build external partnerships, provide technical assistance and mentorship, and help consolidate Federal resources for agritourism businesses. The Advisor would also review farm enterprise programs for financial literacy, business planning, and marketing. This change would take effect upon enactment and does not create new funding in this section.
