New visa rule for Chinese nationals
If enacted, the bill would prohibit the Secretary of Homeland Security from admitting any national of the People’s Republic of China or any person holding a passport issued by the People’s Republic of China who does not have a valid U.S. visa. It would bar DHS from using appropriated or otherwise available funds to let PRC nationals enter without a visa, including the Guam and Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands visa waiver program and the Economic Vitality & Security Travel Authorization Program. The bill would also state that Hong Kong and Macau count as part of the People’s Republic of China for this section. These rules would take effect upon enactment.
