Funding for East Wing modernization
If enacted, this bill would appropriate $400 million for fiscal year 2026 to complete the East Wing Modernization Project. The money would be drawn from Treasury funds not otherwise appropriated and would be available until January 20, 2029. Funds would pay for design, construction, a secure State Ballroom, a visitor screening facility, and related national security facilities. The appropriation would be in addition to any money or in-kind donations already in the White House Repair and Restoration account.
Customs fees extended for importers
If enacted, this bill would extend the expiration date for certain customs user fees and the Korea-FTA merchandise processing fee rate from December 31, 2031 to March 31, 2032. The change would take effect upon enactment and keep existing fees in place until March 31, 2032. Importers and businesses subject to those fees would continue to pay them while the extension is in effect. Consumers could see small price effects if businesses pass the fees on.
