This bill would prohibit the death penalty in all federal cases. It would require that anyone already sentenced to death under federal law be resentenced.

Ban federal death penalty; resentence inmates
If enacted, the bill would prohibit imposing a death sentence or carrying out an execution for any violation of Federal law on or after the date of enactment. If enacted, the bill would require that anyone sentenced to death before the date of enactment be resentenced. The ban and resentencing requirement would operate notwithstanding any other provision of law. Federal courts and prosecutors would carry out resentencings, helping people on federal death row and their families.
