  • President, Vice President, and employees of their principal or authorized campaign committees or connected organizations would be barred from receiving judgments, awards, settlements, interest, or costs from the Fund that stem from the named settlement.
  • Senators, Representatives, the Delegate to Congress, the Resident Commissioner from Puerto Rico, and congressional officers or employees paid through the Secretary of the Senate or the House Chief Administrative Officer would be barred from such payments.
  • Other covered executive branch officials, as defined by the Lobbying Disclosure Act, would also be barred from receiving those Fund payments.
  • Any payment arising from the Trump v. IRS settlement would require a public disclosure at least 180 days before payment of the recipient's name, the amount, a complete summary of the basis for the claim, and the counsel's name.
  • The restrictions and disclosure rule would apply to any pending case and to any cause of action that arises on or after January 20, 2025.

Ban settlement payments to political insiders
