- Patients and families: Would provide an online federal clearinghouse with information on risk factors, symptoms, screening eligibility, clinical trials, and support services. It also directs attention to psychosocial needs, fertility preservation, work-related issues, and caregiver supports for young adults aged 18 to 49.
- Health care professionals: Would fund a national education campaign and provider resources aimed at primary care, emergency, obstetrics and gynecology, pulmonary, and gastrointestinal clinicians to improve early detection, screening guidance, and use of family history and biomarkers.
- Researchers and health systems: Would inventory existing federal programs, identify biomedical, behavioral, and environmental research priorities, and authorize the National Cancer Institute to establish National Centers of Excellence for Young Adult Cancers or similar hubs. A Federal Coordinating Committee would consult on the strategy and report progress to Congress at least every two years.
