More help addressing loneliness for seniors
If enacted, this bill would add "loneliness" to the Older Americans Act definition of social isolation. The change would apply each place that term appears in section 102(14)(N). It would apply to programs funded or supported by the Administration on Aging and run by State and area agencies on aging. If you are 65 or older and use those programs, providers could screen for loneliness and design services to address it. This is a definitional change, not a new guaranteed payment.
