If enacted, schools that get Title IV funds would be able to teach students about dangers and limits of artificial intelligence. Lessons would also cover responsible use and AI chatbots. If enacted, those schools would be able to provide counseling for mental health issues arising from use of AI chatbots. The bill would add definitions saying 'artificial intelligence' follows the National Artificial Intelligence Initiative Act of 2020 and that an 'artificial intelligence chatbot' is a consumer-marketed system that holds multi-turn, natural-language conversations or gives personalized responses.
