Summary
Creates a private right of action for victims whose personally identifiable information or personal and medical files are disclosed under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. The bill would let affected people sue the United States for those disclosures and seek damages, attorneys' fees, and injunctive relief.

New privacy lawsuit right for victims
This bill would let you sue the United States if a federal officer, employee, or agent disclosed your private information. For each separate disclosure, a court would award the greater of $50,000 or your actual compensatory damages. You would also be able to recover reasonable attorney fees and litigation costs and seek injunctions or declaratory relief. The United States would waive sovereign immunity, and suits could cover violations on or after November 19, 2025. You would have to start a suit within five years after you first learn of the violation (or, if you learned before enactment, within five years after enactment).
