Blocks federal approval to expand limestone mining and related permits on specified Bureau of Land Management parcels near Glenwood Springs. Ban on federal limestone expansion
If enacted, the Secretary of the Interior would not process or approve applications to expand limestone mining on certain BLM lands. The ban would apply to expansions under the general mining laws and to mineral material sales contracts or applications under the Materials Act of 1947 and the Surface Resources Act of 1955. It would cover BLM land in Garfield County described as Sec. 4, T. 6 S., R. 89 W.; Secs. 25 and 36, T. 5 S., R. 89 W.; and Secs. 30 and 31, T. 5 S., R. 88 W., sixth principal meridian.
