Health equity in Medicare and Medicaid

If enacted, this bill would make health equity a formal priority for Medicare and Medicaid payment tests. It would require CMMI to add equity and social drivers of health to model evaluation and reporting. Models starting on or after January 1, 2027 would need to address health equity alongside access. The bill would also require the Secretary to consult federal minority, rural, and women’s health offices before picking models. It would create a required Social Determinants of Health Payment Model that must begin testing by December 31, 2027.
