Standardize VA phone communications. This bill would require the Department of Veterans Affairs to make calls about VA services or benefits come from a single, well-known VA telephone number and use caller ID branding that clearly shows the call is from or on behalf of the Department.

By January 1, 2026, calls about VA services or benefits placed by VA employees or contractors would come from one well-known VA phone number and show caller ID indicating the Department. By January 1, 2026, the Veterans Health Administration would also need at least one call center in each time zone: Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaska, and Hawaii for appointment and referral questions. The Secretary would not have to locate a call center in parts of a time zone that do not observe daylight time. These are operational steps to make VA phone outreach clearer and easier to reach.
