Stop unauthorized U.S. hostilities with Iran
This joint resolution would direct the President to remove U.S. Armed Forces from hostilities within or against Iran that Congress has not authorized. The removal would be required unless Congress declares war or passes a specific authorization for these hostilities. It would not stop defending the United States or its personnel and facilities, or intelligence collection and sharing. It would also not stop helping Israel and partner countries attacked since February 28, 2026, by defending them or providing defensive equipment. The directive would take effect upon enactment.
