Cancel federal gas water heater rule
This bill would cancel a DOE rule on gas instantaneous water heaters. The rule was published at 89 Fed. Reg. 105188 on December 26, 2024. If enacted, that DOE rule would have no force or effect upon enactment. Manufacturers and sellers would avoid costs to meet the standard. Households would not get the future energy savings the standard aimed to create.
