New limits on election spending

If enough states ratify this amendment, Congress and state governments would be able to set reasonable limits on election money. They could pass laws that treat natural persons and corporations differently. Laws could bar corporations and similar legal entities from spending money in elections. Exact limits and enforcement would come later through federal or state laws.

Press freedom remains protected

If the amendment is ratified, nothing in it would let Congress or the states abridge the freedom of the press. News reporting and similar press activities would remain protected under this rule.
