Recognize and celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month by honoring these communities' histories, achievements, and contributions to the United States. The resolution cites census growth—Asian Americans grew nearly 55.5 percent and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders grew 30.8 percent from 2010 to 2020—notes more than 25 million people who identify as Asian and about 1.8 million who identify as Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander, highlights over 70 ethnicities and more than 100 language dialects, marks key 2025 anniversaries, recalls a history of discriminatory laws and violent attacks including recent hate crimes, and asks the President to issue an annual proclamation under title 36 urging observances, programs, and ceremonies.
