Senate Environment and Public Works spending
This resolution would let the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee spend money from March 1, 2025 through February 28, 2027. It would cap spending at $4,107,247 (Mar 1–Sep 30, 2025), $7,040,996 (Oct 1, 2025–Sep 30, 2026), and $2,933,748 (Oct 1, 2026–Feb 28, 2027). Within each period it would limit consultant hiring to $4,666; $8,000; and $3,334, and staff training to $1,166; $2,000; and $834. The committee would be able to spend from the Senate contingent fund, hire staff, and use agency personnel only with the agency's and the Rules Committee's prior consent. It would authorize agency contributions for committee employee compensation from the Senate "Expenses of Inquiries and Investigations" account. Vouchers would generally be required for payments, but not for routine items like annual salaries, official telecommunications, stationery, Postmaster charges, metered copying, Senate Recording and Photographic Services, or franked and mass mail costs.
