Independent Testing Laboratories

Ala. Code § 28-12-21

In order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of this state from dangerous foreign products, an independent testing laboratory must meet all of the following requirements: (1) Is accredited by a third-party accrediting body as a competent testing laboratory pursuant to ISO (International Organization for Standardization)/IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) 17025:2017 of the International Organization for Standardization. (2) Does not have a direct or indirect interest in the producer whose product is being tested. (3) Does not have a direct or indirect interest in a facility that cultivates, processes, distributes, or sells hemp or consumable hemp products in this state or in another jurisdiction.
