(a) A TNC or TNC driver is not a common carrier, contract carrier, or motor carrier, as defined in Section 37-3-2, does not provide taxi or for-hire vehicle services, and is not subject to the Alabama Motor Carrier Act, Chapter 3, Title 37. (b) A TNC driver is not required to register the vehicle that the TNC driver uses to provide prearranged rides under this article as a commercial motor vehicle or for-hire vehicle under the Alabama Motor Carrier Act, Chapter 3, Title 37.
