Chapter 21 — Definitions

“Public administration” means the activities of government to accomplish public goals. History: Rule 11-84, eff 19 Dec 84, (part).

“Rating” means the act of classifying according to grade, class, rank, or other unit of measuring or evaluation. History: Rule 11-84, eff 19 Dec 84, (part).

“Reassignment” means movement of an employee from one position to another position in the same class or grade or from one position to another position in a different class at the same grade. History: Rule 11-84, eff 19 Dec 84, (part).

“Reduction-in-force” means a separation from service because of a lack of funds and/or work and/ or reorganization and without cause on the part of the employee. History: Rule 11-84, eff 19 Dec 84, (part).

“Reduction in salary” means placement of an employee’s salary at a lower step at the same or lower grade as a result of a disciplinary action. History: Rule 11-84, eff 19 Dec 84, (part).
