(a) The following persons, firms, or corporations are exempt from the provisions under this chapter while in the proper discharge of their professional duties:(1) Persons licensed by the laws of this state to practice the healing arts;(2) Commissioned medical or surgical officers of the uniformed services of the United States;(3) Persons licensed or registered by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing;(4) Undertakers and morticians; and(5) Jails, prisons, or penitentiaries.

(b) Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed so as to conflict in any manner with the laws regulating the vocation of cosmetic therapy or beauty culture.
