(a) (1) Upon reaching the age of sixty-five (65), or any time thereafter, any individual who has received a certificate of license as a contractor from the Contractors Licensing Board for not less than twelve (12) years may apply for a lifetime certificate of license as a contractor.(2) The lifetime certificate of license as a contractor shall be issued upon satisfactory proof of age and upon payment of a one-time fee of sixty-five dollars ($65.00).(3) The annual renewal fee for a lifetime license shall be waived if all required information is provided on the renewal application.

(b) An individual issued a lifetime certificate of license as a contractor shall maintain:(1) All bonds as required by law or rule of the board for any period in which any work as a contractor is performed for remunerative purposes, whether as an employee or an independent contractor; and(2) Workers' compensation coverage as required under the Workers' Compensation Law, § 11-9-101 et seq., and § 17-25-514.
