(1) The purpose of this subchapter is to:(1) Consolidate staff and other Medicaid fraud detection, prevention, and recovery functions from the relevant governmental entities into a single office;(2) Create a more efficient and accountable structure;(3) Reorganize and streamline the state's process for detecting and combating Medicaid fraud and abuse; and(4) Maximize the recovery of improper Medicaid payments.
