(a) The office of the Attorney General is designated as a law enforcement agency.
(b) A person designated and employed as a special investigator by the Attorney General shall:(1) Be a certified law enforcement officer under § 12-9-101 et seq.; and(2) Have statewide law enforcement jurisdiction and authority.
