Notification when minor convicted

(a) As used in this section, “minor” means a person under eighteen (18) years of age.

(b) If a minor is convicted of any moving traffic violation under the laws of this state, or under any municipal ordinance, whether the fine and sentence imposed is collected or whether the fine and sentence imposed is suspended, the court shall notify in writing the parents, guardian, or other person who signed the application of the minor for a permit or license as required under § 27-16-702.

(c) If the minor does not have a permit or license, the court shall notify the father or mother of the minor, if living, or the guardian or other person having custody of the minor of the conviction.
