A protective placement terminates when the professional person in charge of treatment of the respondent, after a reasonable observation and treatment period, determines the respondent no longer meets the criteria for protective placement pursuant to section 25.5-10-502 (1). When a protective placement is terminated pursuant to this section, the professional person in charge of providing care or treatment to the respondent shall notify the court in writing within five days after the termination.
