Sec. 7-294. Earnings not affected. There shall be no diminution in the weekly earnings of any police in municipalities adopting the provisions of sections 7-292 to 7-294, inclusive, nor shall there be any lessening of any of their existing rights and privileges, as the result of the adoption of the work week provided therein.
