(a) As used in this Code section, the term ‘‘bucket shop’’ means any place of business in which contracts of the nature provided for in Code Section 13-9-3 are made. (b) The maintenance or operation of a bucket shop is prohibited. (c) Any person, either as agent or principal, who maintains or operates a bucket shop shall be guilty of a felony and, upon conviction, shall be imprisoned for a period not exceeding two years. (Ga.
