The testimony of a subscribing witness shall not be necessary to authenticate a writing unless required by the laws of the jurisdiction whose laws govern the validity of the writing. History. Former Code Section 24-7-5, which contained comparable provisions to this Code section, as effective January 1, 2013, was derived in part from the decision in McVicker v.
