Adoption of stricter shelter policies

This chapter shall not prohibit the adoption by any political subdivision of this state of shelter policies which are more stringent than the requirements of this chapter. L. 2002, p. 1215, § 4(b), not codified by the General Assembly, provided: ‘‘If an amendment to the Constitution of the State of Georgia authorizing the creation of a special fund for support of the dog and cat reproductive sterilization support program is not ratified at the general election in 2002, Sections 1 and 2 of this Act shall be repealed in their entirety on January 1, 2003, and no such motor vehicle license plates as contemplated in Sections 1 and 2 of this Act shall be issued pursuant to this Act.’’ That amendment was ratified by the voters at the November 2002 general election so that this chapter became effective January 1, 2003. 4-15-1.
