Compensation of processioners; costs of protest

The applicant shall pay to each of the processioners not less than $6.00 per day for his services. If a protest is filed, the costs of the court shall abide the issue. The judge of the probate court is authorized to fix the 367 44-4-20 compensation of the processioners at the time of making the biennial appointment of processioners as provided in Code Section 44-4-1; but the compensation he fixes shall not be less than the compensation specified in this Code section.
