The directors shall serve without compensation but shall be reimbursed for all necessary expenses that they incur through service on the board of directors. (Ga. L. 1963, p. 521, § 2.) 47-19-3. The board of directors shall elect a chairman from its membership and may employ necessary administrative and clerical assistants, who shall not be members of the board of directors. The board of directors shall engage such actuarial and other services as shall be required from time to time to transact the business of the department.
