O.C.G.A. § 49-6-21

The Council on Aging shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Governor, the General Assembly, the board, the department, and all 361 49-6-40 other state agencies in matters relating to the elderly. In particular, the council shall: (1) Make recommendations concerning the establishment and maintenance of an adequate program for the elderly in Georgia; (2) Recommend standards for services for the elderly; (3) Aid the department and other state agencies in coordinating programs for the elderly; (4) Establish indices to determine the effectiveness of programs for the aged; (5) Ensure that regular, adequate, and accurate reports are submitted by the component parts of aging programs to the council; (6) Publish in print or electronically regular reports of the council’s activities and the adequacy of state programs for the aged; and (7) Establish liaison with area agency councils on aging.
