If the Department of Public Health elects to regulate the sale or transportation of exotic or pet birds under the authority of Code Section 31-12-9, then the Department of Public Health shall cooperate with the Department of Agriculture in developing and implementing such regulation. The 2011 amendment, effective July 1, 2011, substituted ‘‘Department of Public Health’’ for ‘‘Department of Community Health’’ twice in this Code section.
