The second Sunday in August of each year shall be known as Gold Star Mothers’ Day, and is made a special holiday to be observed throughout Guam to commemorate the mothers of those men and women who gave their lives to their country while serving with the Armed Forces of the United States in time of war. I Maga’håga/Maga’låhi is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation each year calling upon the people of Guam to appropriately observe this day, and he shall appoint a Gold Star Mothers’ Day Committee to plan and arrange such annual celebration.
