17 GCA § 28711.1

Language and Culture Teachers. (a) The Board may award Teacher Corps Scholarships to one (1) individual from every public secondary school seeking to major in Chamorro Language and Culture studies at the University of Guam; provided, that such course of study meets the requirements for concentration and certification in a subject related to secondary education and that such individuals, in addition to courses required for their major, complete the minimum courses required for teacher certification in secondary education. (b) No less than ten (10) Teacher Corps Scholarships for Chamorro Language and Culture Studies may be awarded each year, provided that the number of eligible recipients exceeds the minimum number of mandatory awards as set in this Section.

FOR HIGHER EDUCATION

(b) Teachers with existing baccalaureate degrees shall also be eligible for a Teacher Corps Scholarship for Chamorro Language and Culture Studies. SOURCE: Added by P.L. 31-037:3 (Apr. 18, 2011).
