Term of Grand Jury; Exceptions

8 GCA § 50.62 — under Grand Jury.

8 GCA § 50.62

(a) A grand jury shall serve until discharged by the court but no grand jury may serve more than eighteen (18) months. (b) At any time for cause shown the court may excuse a juror either temporarily or permanently, and in the latter event the court may impanel another person in place of the juror excused. NOTE: Section 50.62 is substantively the same as former § 805(e). Former Rule 6(g) was substantively similar; however, it contained an unnecessary reference to "terms of court" which was not stated in former § 805(e) and is not retained here. See also Fed. R. Crim. P. 6(g).
