Limitation on Salaries of Directors and Deputy Directors

4 GCA § 6206.1

(a) If the salary level of a Director or Deputy Director, by whatever title denominated, is not specifically set out in law but is set by a Board, Commission or other administrative body, that Board, Commission or other administrative body shall not set the salary level of a Director to exceed the current salary level of I Maga’håga/Maga’låhi, and shall not set the salary level of a Deputy Director to exceed the current salary level of I Sigundo Maga’håga/Maga’låhi. This Section shall apply to all departments, agencies, corporations expending funds appropriated by the government of Guam or instrumentalities of the government of Guam, and whether or not the agency is a line, autonomous, or semi-autonomous agency. (b) Title 4 GCA § 6206.1 shall not apply to persons occupying Director or Deputy Director positions under the terms of a contract in effect on the effective date of this Act, however 4 GCA § 6206.1 shall be effective for any subsequent contract or renewal of a current contract when salary is negotiable.
