(a) Nothing in this Chapter shall prohibit the director or qualified mental health professional person in charge of the facility in which the person is being involuntarily treated from releasing him from treatment prior to the expiration of ninety (90) days when in his opinion the person being involuntarily treated no longer constitutes an imminent threat of substantial harm to himself or others. (b) Whenever the director or qualified mental health professional person in charge of a facility providing post-certification treatment pursuant to this Chapter releases a person prior to the expiration of ninety (90) days, he shall so notify the court.
