For the purposes of this Section, educational institution means any public school, university or college with enrolled students. (a) Educational institutions must make reasonable efforts to provide a safe and clean room or private designated area, other than a toilet stall, where a nursing mother can express her milk in privacy. (b) Educational institutions shall not discriminate – meaning to restrict, harass or penalize – against a woman who chooses to express breast milk.
