Sec. 1. If: (1) it becomes necessary to appoint a guardian for the estate of an individual who has been committed to a state institution; and (2) the estate of the individual does not exceed three hundred dollars ($300); the attorney general shall represent the individual in securing the appointment of a guardian for the individual's estate.
