Sec. 10. (a) The department may inspect a vehicle for the purpose of determining compliance with this chapter. (b) The department may: (1) inspect a vehicle that is not moving; and (2) not stop a vehicle that is in motion on a public highway (as defined in IC 9-25-2-4) only to conduct an inspection; under subsection (a).
