Contaminants in lakes or floodways prohibited

Sec. 27. (a) Except as provided in subsection (b), this section does not apply to the following: (1) A person using chemicals in a normal manner in the production of agricultural products. (2) A person acting in accordance with an appropriate permit issued by the director. (3) A person acting in accordance with a permit issued by the department of environmental management under water pollution control laws (as defined in IC 13-11-2-261) or environmental management laws (as defined in IC 13-11-2-71). (b) This section applies to the permitting requirements set forth in the following: (1) Section 22 of this chapter. (2) IC 14-26-2. (c) A person may not put, throw, dump, or leave a contaminant, garbage, or solid waste: (1) in, upon, or within fifteen (15) feet of a lake; or (2) in or upon a floodway.
