Sec. 5. (a) Except as provided in section 38 of this chapter, each county election board shall appoint two (2) election sheriffs for each precinct in the county. (b) Each county chairman of a major political party of the county is entitled to nominate one (1) election sheriff under section 9 of this chapter.
