Sec. 1. (a) This chapter applies only to a purchasing agency in the executive branch. (b) Subject to the policies of the purchasing agency, a purchasing agent may follow the procedure described in this chapter in awarding a contract for supplies instead of awarding a contract under IC 5-22-7.
