An applicant who is issued a class B journeyman electrician license pursuant to this section shall not be authorized to wire for or install electrical wiring, apparatus, and equipment in a political subdivision which, prior to or after January 1, 2008, establishes licensing standards which preclude such work by class B journeyman electricians in the political subdivision. The board shall adopt rules establishing procedures relating to the restriction of a class B journeyman electrician license pursuant to this subsection . \~\~ b. \~\~ A class B journeyman electrician may become licensed as a class A journeyman electrician upon successful passage of the examination prescribed in subsection 2 . \~\~ 4. \~\~ A person licensed to wire for or install electrical wiring, apparatus, or equipment or supervise an apprentice electrician by a political subdivision preceding January 1, 2008, pursuant to a supervised written examination, and who is currently engaged in the electrical contracting industry with at least four years’ experience, shall be issued an applicable statewide license corresponding to that licensure as a class A journeyman electrician or a class B journeyman electrician.
