Original registration records shall not be removed from the commissioner’s office or from any other designated permanent storage location except upon request of a county commissioner or a court order, as provided in subsection 2 , or as provided by section 48A.32 . The state registrar of voters and the state voter registration commission shall adopt administrative rules to implement this section . \~\~ 2. \~\~ The county commissioner of elections may store an unaltered version of completed voter registration applications, including the applicant’s signature, as an electronic document, or in another format suitable for preserving information in the registration record, regardless of the format in which the application is submitted. 94 Acts, ch 1169, §36 ; 2014 Acts, ch 1101, §7
