The members shall have demonstrated experience and expertise in apprenticeable occupations. \~\~ b. \~\~ The council shall have an equal number of representatives of employer organizations and employee organizations. The total number of public members shall not exceed the total number of members who serve as a representative of an employee organization or an employer organization. \~\~ c. \~\~ The governor shall appoint a chair of the Iowa apprenticeship council from among the voting members. \~\~ d. \~\~ The director, or the director’s designee, shall serve as an ex officio, nonvoting member. \~\~ 4. \~\~ The council shall develop bylaws related to the support and expansion of the use of apprenticeship in the state. \~\~ 5. \~\~ Meetings of the council shall be governed by the provisions of chapter 21 . \~\~ 6. \~\~ The council shall do all of the following: \~\~ a. \~\~ Advise the Iowa office of apprenticeship regarding the duties set forth in this chapter . \~\~ b. \~\~ Provide community outreach and education regarding the benefits of apprenticeship. 2023 Acts, ch 72, §5 ; 2024 Acts, ch 1004, §16 Referred to in §84D.2
