12-1221. County or township bonds for site, building and equipment; election. Any county or township which is maintaining, or has voted to establish a library may erect and equip a library building and procure a site therefor, and may issue the bonds of such county or township for the purpose of paying the cost of such building, equipment and site. Before issuing any bonds hereunder the question of such issuance shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the county or township and if a majority of those voting on the proposition shall vote in favor thereof, such bonds may be issued. A proposition to issue such bonds may be combined with the proposition to establish a library under the provisions of K.S.A. 12-1220. The election shall be called and held, and the bonds issued thereunder in accordance with the provisions of the general bond law. History: L. 1951, ch. 485, § 4; July 1. CASE ANNOTATIONS 1.
